Paper K8 is a Memphis, Tennessee–based wallpaper studio founded by designer Kate Alkarni, known for creating richly detailed wallcoverings that bring artistry and atmosphere to interior spaces. Working with interior designers, and private clients across the country, the studio specializes in both bespoke wallpaper and a curated collection of original designs.
At the heart of Paper K8 is a deep appreciation for craftsmanship, scale, and the transformative power of pattern. The studio’s signature wallpaper line features distinctive designs that can often be customized in color, material, and scale, allowing each pattern to adapt beautifully to the architecture and character of a space.

We offer custom rug design, creating one-of-a-kind pieces tailored to the unique vision of each project. Working closely with interior designers, architects, and private clients, the studio develops bespoke rugs that complement a space’s architecture, color palette, and overall design concept.

Paper K8 offers bespoke art and production services for interior designers, hospitality projects, and private clients seeking distinctive, large-scale artwork. Led by Kate Alkarni—former founder of the Kate Alkarni Gallery in the Seattle Design Center—the studio brings a deeply informed, curatorial approach to every project. Paper K8 both sources exceptional existing works and creates original, custom pieces, thoughtfully designed to complement the architecture, color palette, and overall atmosphere of each space.
